"Oh, it's you! I'd recognise that face anywhere." A roughed up, dusty Rocket Grunt appears, though his mask is perfectly untouched, as if he had been protecting it with his life. Was it in stark contrast to an eternally untouched idol girl, or had a single day war worn down on the both of them? Either way, there was a gulf between them in status, and power. Someone stood at the elite of all Hoenn, every spotlight trained on her every move. Someone else could be killed and replaced at any given opportunity.[break][break]

"Hey, if I manage to beat you, does that count as an official League win?" When two Trainers' eyes meet, they have to battle. Even if his were hidden behind that mask of his, the principle remained. Two people in direct opposition couldn't ever just walk away from each other.

"A spotlight, even in a place like this…" Ohhh, he wanted one of those so badly. Dramatic lighting wherever he went? A clear and easy sign he was someone to pay attention to? Right, this battle absolutely had to go ahead, then. Alba was just a typical grunt as it stood, but a grunt that had stood his ground against a member of the Elite Four? That was someone worthy of a little more drama.[break][break]

"Whimsicott?" A flick of his wrist, and his partner emerges from her Poké Ball. "Let's blow them away." The air began to churn, and a Hurricane descended on his opponent.

"Quick change meowscarada!" as a HURRICANE was suddenly conjured into the environment and Meowscarada's mask became an extremely light blue as it leaps into the air and uses ACROBATICS. [break][break]

It takes damage still from the hurricane, but it uses the wind to help it leap into the air, reaching the roof of the cavern and flipping backwards, using the roof as it spring boards down with it's claws drawn as it attempts to swipe at whimsicott.

Claws rake into a cottony body, and Whimsicott cries out in pain. She looks… unhappy about being attacked like that, though more obvious is the fact that it wasn't just light damage she took.[break][break]

"Moonblast." Neither of them hesitate despite that; the Windveiled Pokémon fires off a ball of moonlight, trying to take advantage of Meowscarada being in close-range.[break][break]

If they got out of this okay, he'd treat her to a Casteliacone, or at least whatever knockoff this region could provide.

Meowscarada cries out as the whimsicott's fae energy slams into her slender body. Despite her type changing, whimsicott still was able to muster up strong energy thanks to her dual fairy typing sending meowscarada careening backwards. However she rolls herself back up with a flourish as she refused to look bad at any moment. [break][break]

"Nice recovery!" she says praising her pokemon's speedy stand up. "Now let's show them some hand tricks. Go!" she says as the spotlights appear again and Meowscarada's mask becomes more green as PROTEAN activates again as with a snap of it's fingers several flower bombs appear in front of the whimsicott and explode and it uses FLOWER TRICK

There's no way for Whimsicott to dodge that; the nature of the attack simply makes it impossible. She disappears in a flurry of petals thrown up by the floral explosions. As they start to dissipate, she doesn't look good. It's likely the only reason Alba's Pokémon is still conscious right now is the protection her Grass typing gives.[break][break]

"You mind staying still for a second?" He says before throwing a sticky glob at Meowscarada, swiftly followed up by a Hurricane from Whimsicott. That type-changing habit it had was a little tricky, but if he lined things up properly, he could strike when it hurt the most.

The sticky glob catches the Meowscarada, rat behavior! The feline hisses as the sticky substance gets caught in it's fur ruining it's perfect outfit as it immediately tries to start cutting it out however the hurricane slams into it, as it shrieks in pain from the attack and Melody decides to call it here for her jester cat. "Return!" she orders as the pokeball's light connects and digitalizes it. [break][break]

"That was dirty. But I shouldn't expect a fair fight with a rocket should i?" she says as Melody sends out her Sawk. While she knew that he'd be at a disadvantage because of the typing match ups, Melody also knew type match ups didn't mean everything in a battle. It could be reduced to strategy and strength. So she places faith into him as he tightens his belt "Focus energy! Double kick!" she shouts as the belt tightening and dagger eyes the fighting type unleashes onto whimsicott FOCUSES it's ENERGY [break][break]

it dashes forward, as it uses that momentum to carry it as it tries to unleash a DOUBLE KICK attack onto WHIMSICOTT

"Potions, berries… Trainers use these kinds of things all the time in more legitimate fights. You're just upset I used it first." Sure, he wasn't exactly carrying around League-approved items or anything, but the principle remained the same, even if he was a dirty criminal. Or something like that; he didn't really care about the principle, he just wanted to hit back at Melody.[break][break]

With that, Alba takes a sledgehammer to his moral high ground and pulls out the completely illegal move of turning a fight into a 2v1, using his Musharna to intercept the attack from the Fighting-type.[break][break]

"Giga Drain and Psychic, please." Well, it wasn't like this was an officially sanctioned match or anything. There was no ruling body to disqualify him for pulling something like this.

Melody grumbles, potions and berries sure. But these items found in the outer wilds? No way![break][break]

Suddenly the battle quickly pivots into a 2 on one match and he catches her off guard with a Pokémon suddenly joining the battle."Sawk watch out!" she warns but it's too late, he's caught by the giga drain that restored the damage he did and the psychic throws him backwards. [break][break]

he tries to recover and Melody sends out a pokemon to help him out slightly. Mr. Rime uses psychic to try and counter-act the musharna's psychic effects and release her sawk from imprisonment. Sawk rushes forward charging up a brick break attack onto the psychic type

Musharna doesn't even seem to notice the attacks levied against her, though the otherworldly sounds she lets out in response might be ones of pain. They sound almost too calm to be that, though, closer to the murmurs of someone having a bad dream than anything else.[break][break]

A snap of his fingers, and Alba's Pokémon continue the attack. Whimsicott unleashing a cloud of Stun Spore on the Mr. Rime, while Musharna carries on harassing Sawk with a Moonblast.

"Ally switch!" she calls out but the paralysis from the stun spore earlier makes mr rime tense up uncontrollably. [break][break]

As a result sawk is slammed into by the moonblast as scratch marks appear all over his body. She tries to recall him into his pokeball but the stun spore drifts over to her and paralyizes her as well. Once mr rime is free he casts a REFLECT over Melody specifically to protect her as sawk is too weak to try and recover "N-No! SAWK GET UP!" she screams as he's left wide open.

It's not like he's a bloodthirsty maniac or anything. It's just the prestige that intrigues him. Managing to kill the Pokémon of an Elite Four member must be worthy of some kind of praise. Maybe he'll get a bonus.[break][break]

"You know, you're pretty good at screaming. Maybe you should try branching out into death metal, or something." And with another Psychic, the deed is done.[break][break]

He's never killed another Pokémon before, at least not deliberately. It's not anything that causes a profound moral crisis or anything, but there's something different about aiming to faint and aiming to kill.[break][break]

"Hm. Well, I hope you don't take this too personally…" Walking past Melody, he lifts a hand to wave goodbye. "I'll leave you to mourn. Catch you later!"
